Off The Floor follows Jessica Anderson-Gwin, a trained choreographer and hip-hop artist as she starts the first contemporary pole dance company, Jagged. This documentary explores how she addresses the prejudice of her critics and attempts to change the taboo ideas surrounding pole dancing. I had a blast in creating the score, in which I played all the instruments, not necessarily knowing the proper way to play them, including the violin and cello! The result was a unique blend of organic textures that perfectly complimented the telling of Jess’s story.
